Howdy and welcome to the inaugural edition of Career Talk, Therapy Austin! We’re launching this monthly(-ish!) newsletter to help you stay abreast of all things career-wise at Therapy Austin.

The biggest news we have to share is that Therapy Austin has turned 10! From the humble beginnings of three Counselors to now more than 100, our mission for the last 10 years has never wavered: To provide outstanding training to counselors so that our clients receive excellent services. Enjoy a few photos of our recent celebration below!

In other news, Therapy Austin is now offering teletherapy throughout Texas! We’re excited to be able to further support our mission by increasing access to quality mental health care services in underserved areas of the state.

At Therapy Austin, we’re committed to building community for our Counselors. One of the many ways we achieve this is through Agency-sponsored Happy Hours and an Annual Bash. On November 4th, we hosted our 10th Anniversary party at Zilker Lodge, attended by over 100 Therapy Austin employees, family, and friends! The event featured food, drinks, Therapy Austin swag, raffle prizes, and, most importantly, the chance for employees to connect with fellow Counselors. The cherry on top? Zilker Lodge rental fees send children from low-income homes to the Austin Sunshine Camps!

Celebrating Our Counselors

Over the summer, we reached out to some of our talented therapists and asked them what makes Therapy Austin a special place to work. Ussama Taha, LCSW, Senior Counselor with Specialization and Recruitment Coordinator, brushed off his TV production skills from a previous life and produced six videos featuring our clever Counselors. Mark Your Calendar

See below for important dates and deadlines related to our 2023 application and hiring process. We currently accept applications on a rolling basis and it can take up to six weeks for your provisional license (LMFA-Associate, LMSW, LPC-Associate) to come through, so we recommend submitting your applications around one and a half months before your desired start date. It typically takes less time if you’re upgrading your license (e.g., from LMSW to LCSW).

Next year, Therapy Austin will begin hosting regular information sessions, both on Zoom and at our five locations throughout the Austin area. Refreshments and pastries will be available at our in-person sessions. Come to learn more about Therapy Austin, stay to get to know your future colleagues!

Join our community! Therapy Austin accepts applications for LMFTs, LPCs, LCSWs, LMFT-Associates, LPC-Associates and LMSWs on a rolling basis. If you’re not yet licensed, we recommend applying shortly after you submit all your paperwork for your license. Learn more and apply here.
