Hello and welcome to Therapy Austin!
If you’ve found your way here it may mean that you are in search of a new counselor. Whether it is your first experience in therapy, or if you are coming back again, I applaud you for seeking the support you need during this time.
Therapy can be a transformative tool for those who are ready to do the hard work of being vulnerable and honest not only with the therapist but with themselves. This is why my therapeutic approach is relational and collaborative; I aim to create an environment where you can share your story and be heard without judgement while going at your pace. This is where we can slowly uncover learned behaviors or patterns from your past that are now getting in the way of your present or future best version of yourself.
I love helping clients build new skills to help them connect or reconnect to themselves, others, and the world around them. I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families of diverse backgrounds in a variety of settings including schools and rehabilitation centers. Furthermore, I have extensive practice with dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and am trained in Gottman, so you will see flavors of that in combination with other modalities throughout our work together. Because there truly is no one-size fits all in therapy I tailor my approach to each client while exploring and collaborating together to find what works best!
Whether you are going through a life transition, not feeling connected in your relationships, or wanting to heal your inner child wounds, this is a space for you. We will take it one step at a time and I will be here to empower and encourage you along the way.
A little more about me: I am a proud Mexican-American first-generation daughter to immigrants and earned my masters in Social Work from The University of Texas in Austin. The education I gained while at UT alongside my lived experiences have led me to the work I do now as a clinician. I have a deep passion for creating strong connections to those around me and helping them be able to do the same. Outside the therapy room I enjoy watching movies, listening and dancing to live music, cooking, and spending time with my son, family, and friends.
