“Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen” – Brene Brown
You are not alone if you feel afraid of opening up to someone about what you feel and think. You may be feeling stuck, lonely, anxious, or ashamed. My hope is that we approach your emotions with care, curiosity, genuineness, and maybe even some humor along the way. I enjoy creating a comfortable, supportive, and safe environment that allows you to bring the walls down. I want you to feel understood and supported through all the complexities, joys, heartbreaks, and breakthroughs. Together, we’ll tackle the tough stuff – like those tricky thoughts or beliefs that are holding you back- and discover the inner strengths that you might not even know you have. Amidst all the noise and confusion of the world, my hope is that you get the space to truly tune into yourself and find clarity. You will have a therapist who so deeply believes in you and wants to help to get you to the life you want.
As a clinician, I take an attachment-based, relational approach to therapy that aims to unpack early experiences and relationships and how they impact your sense of self and current relationships. I use an emotion-focused lens to help deepen awareness of emotions, understand our body’s signals, and get to the roots of feelings. I specialize in life transitions, young adults/college students, hurtful parenting, religious hurt, shame and guilt, ADHD, depression, anxiety, and relationship struggles.
A little more about me: I am a Mexican-American, native Austinite. I understand what it’s like to have a foot in two worlds and two cultures. I want to take a non-assuming stance on understanding the systems you live in. I enjoy making fun Spotify playlists, asking to pet people’s dogs, and honey-lavender lattes. I love being in nature and road trips with friends. I grew up in a large, loud, and close family. I witnessed generational trauma impact the people I love which sparked my interest in trauma-informed care and therapy that does not see people as “needing fixing”. I have experience working in community counseling centers for low-income individuals and college counseling centers. I invite you to take this first step and reach out. You are worthy of a space just for you.
