Hi there! I’m Cristina, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Intern and a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher. I’m here to help you navigate life’s messy, beautiful, and sometimes downright overwhelming moments.
My approach is rooted in psychodynamic theory, CBT/DBT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and narrative therapy—fancy words for saying I’ve got a toolkit tailored to meet you where you’re at. But here’s the thing: I stray from the traditional, sterile “medical model” vibe. Working with me is more like grabbing coffee with a friend who’s not afraid to bring a little humor to the table—and maybe call you out on your BS (in the most loving way possible, of course).
In addition to traditional therapy methods, I bring elements of mindfulness, meditation, and breathwork into our sessions, drawing from my background as a yoga teacher. These practices can help ground you in the present, regulate emotions, and connect mind and body in a meaningful way. I specialize in working with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, life transitions, trauma, interpersonal relationship issues, disordered eating, and body image issues. I also have a special place in my heart for young adults trying to figure out their path in this wild world.
A little about me – I’m a Wisconsin cheesehead turned Southern belle, and I’ve been soaking up the Austin sunshine for almost six years now. I earned my undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Go Badgers!) and spent four years working in criminal defense law before pursuing my master’s in counseling. When I’m not in the therapy room, you can find me exploring Austin’s happy hours, sweating it out in a hot yoga class, or spending quality time with friends. Therapy doesn’t have to be intimidating or overly serious all the time. Together, we’ll tackle the hard stuff, share a laugh or two, and rewrite the narratives that no longer serve you.
When you’re ready, I’m here—no judgment, just support, insight, and a little humor to lighten the load. Let’s do this!
