Elizabeth "Liz" Denny, LPC Associate
she/her/hers

Supervised by Maureen M. Hawn, LPC-S

It’s not easy to prioritize yourself in this busy world, but here you are. Whether you’re considering therapy to address or specific problem area or simply want to understand yourself better, I’m glad you’re here.

Therapy is a dynamic process that involves both healing and creation. In session, you can process your past experiences and apply the lessons learned to create the vision of who you want to become in the next phase of your life. The process can be challenging, but you’ll be supported every step of the way.

I have a relational approach to therapy. As humans, our connections to others influence how we relate to the world and ourselves. I value authenticity and encourage my clients to express themselves fully inside and outside of session. In return I bring my authentic self into session, allowing clients to know and relate to me. I believe a genuine relationship between client and therapist is required to create the space where real change can happen.

I enjoy working with both individuals and couples. I often work with individuals experiencing life transitions, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, interpersonal difficulties, and stress/overwhelm. I strive to be inclusive and affirming of all identities. I am LGBTQIA+ allied, sex and kink positive and I strive to be inclusive and affirming of all identities.

A little about me! Like many before me, I came to Austin to attend the University of Texas (Hook ‘Em!) and never left. I spent the following years working in the technology sector and raising a family before transitioning to a new path where I could focus on what I value most – connecting with and helping people. In my free time, you will find me enjoying the outdoors, eating delicious food with my favorite people, or reminiscing about 1990s life in Austin.
