I am so glad that you are here. Life will inevitably present us with challenges, but when we look back, we realize that those challenges were the catalysts we needed to evolve and be transformed into a richer, more balanced version of ourselves. Often, these catalysts come disguised as illness, loss, or trauma, and can manifest as anxiety, depression and stress. It can be difficult to keep it all together amidst these challenges, and often we want to be listened to, we want to be heard, and we seek someone to help us decipher the messages life is throwing our way. The whole process can be symbolized as crossing a crude bridge, one made out of rope which crosses a very tumultuous and dangerous river. In those times, it feels so good to have a firm hand guiding us—the hand of a kind, non-judgmental and well-informed person who can be a witness to our experience and guide us to the other side. It takes bravery to cross that bridge. I applaud your strength and readiness to change your reality.
One day you will probably be grateful for these difficulties, but today you may be struggling with relationship issues at home or work, or you may be experiencing fear and confusion over an important decision you need to make. You may have an ambitious goal and no idea how to get from A to B, or you may need a hand with reducing your levels of stress and anxiety. Using different tools and techniques, I will help you redirect your focus and energy so you can find the solutions that will restore that balance for which you yearn. We will journey together, cross that bridge safely, and then celebrate once we get to the other side.
A little bit about me: I am originally from Venezuela and am bilingual (Spanish) and bicultural. I am an avid traveler, love dancing and enjoy taking long walks. I had a successful career in high tech sales, but my first love has always been psychology and counseling. When my job was terminated, I felt that my world had collapsed; however, after a few months, I realized that it had been the greatest gift anyone could have given me. I had the opportunity to fulfill my dream of becoming a therapist. I use a variety of evidence-based modalities, such as ACT and CBT, and bring elements of both sides of the therapeutic spectrum from neurobiology to mindfulness, which make my approach very integrative.
I would love to listen to your story and help you put together the pieces that will ultimately help you get back on track and move in a direction that you desire to follow, in the direction of joy, wholeness and contentment for which we, consciously or unconsciously, are always searching.
