“Trauma creates change you don’t choose. Healing is about creating change you do choose.” -Michelle Rosenthal
Hello there! I’m so glad you’ve found your way here. My name is Allie (but feel free to call me Uruchapak Nakkaew for a tongue twister challenge), and I’m your guide to this safe space where we can dive deep into your mind, unpack your thoughts, and take on life’s twists and turns as a dynamic duo. So get ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery and laughter together.
In the room with me, you can expect a warm, empathetic presence coupled with a sprinkle of humor and genuine curiosity. I believe in the power of connection and collaboration, working alongside you as we unravel the threads of your experiences and weave them into a narrative that empowers growth and resilience. My therapeutic approach is rooted in Adlerian principles, focusing on understanding your unique perspective and uncovering the driving forces behind your behaviors and emotions. I’m a big believer in the inherent goodness and potential within each individual, and I’m passionate about fostering a strengths-based, positive outlook in our work together.
Drawing from humanistic traditions, I place great value on creating a non-judgmental, accepting space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without fear of criticism or rejection. We’ll work together to cultivate healing, self-compassion, and self-awareness, laying the groundwork for meaningful change and personal fulfillment. I specialize in working with trauma, anxiety, compulsive behaviors, and behavioral addictions, and life transitions. Utilizing evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, I tailor our sessions to meet your unique needs and goals, providing practical tools and strategies to support your journey toward healing and growth.
On a personal note, I originate from Thailand, which might be evident in my accent. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Yoga and later pursued a Master of Education in Counseling and Human Development. After completing my education, I’ve also worked extensively with mental health community services, serving in the heart of Texas areas with individuals facing co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders. Upon discovering Austin, I knew it was where I wanted to live and grow. The welcoming community and breathtaking natural surroundings captured my heart. Outside of therapy, you’ll often find me in the great outdoors, either hiking in the hills or enjoying the water. I also love indulging in a good book or experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes. These activities bring me joy and balance, enriching both my personal and professional life.
I’m here to walk alongside you on your path toward wholeness and well-being, offering genuine care, support, and encouragement every step of the way. Together, let’s embark on a journey of self-discovery and transformation. You don’t have to navigate this road alone – I’m here to support you every step of the way. Let’s embark on this journey together, shall we?
