“If it is to be, it is up to me” – William H. Johnsen
Welcome to Therapy Austin, and thank you for checking out my page.
Many of us are overwhelmed in our daily lives, by work/school, relationships, the world around us, or by past traumas. Taking the first step towards healing can be difficult or scary, but it can also be life-changing. My job as a therapist is to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment to facilitate your personal growth, actively listen, and help you focus on the things you can control.
As a client at Therapy Austin, whether you are facing specific challenges or seeking to enhance your overall quality of life, my goal is to support you in understanding yourself better in an environment that allows you to be who you are, feel seen and accepted, and empowers you to have the life you are meant to live. During our time together, we will work on self-discovery, as well as develop coping strategies and tools that will provide support in your day-to-day life.
I have a passion for helping people navigate challenges and support them in becoming the best version of themselves. I provide individual counseling to adolescents, young adults, and adults. My experience includes stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, LGBTQIA+ affirming care, and Neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, etc.) I work from a person-centered lens, which means I believe that you know yourself best. I use a holistic approach that focuses on self-discovery and developing a strong sense of self.
A little bit about me: I grew up in Austin, TX and after pursuing my education, I am so excited to be back and working in Austin. I received both my Bachelor’s in Psychology and my Master’s in Counseling from the University of North Texas in Denton. When I’m not working, you can find me reading, spending time with friends and family, cooking, dancing, or chilling at home with a cup of tea and listening to music. If you’re interested in working with me, please reach out!
