Daniela Burrows, LMSW
Welcome and congratulations on taking a brave step towards seeking mental health care. We all find ways to cope with the stressors of life, however there may come a time where certain patterns, behaviors or ways of being are no longer serving you. Maybe you are seeking more clarity, stability or a greater sense of peace in your day-to-day life. If you’ve been living in survival mode, feeling exhausted, lonely or overwhelmed– I invite you to join me in the therapeutic space. Together we will navigate your journey of self-discovery with compassion and work towards a greater understanding of your past, present and future goals.
Hi, my name is Daniela, and I am so glad you’re here. Finding the right therapist can be a daunting process, so I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and let you know what to expect with my therapeutic style.
In my office, you can expect a warm, empathetic, and collaborative environment where we can begin forming the building blocks of a healing therapeutic relationship. I work to cultivate a “brave” space and operate from an anti-oppressive, LGBTQIA+-affirming, and anti-racist lens to create an environment where you can explore all aspects of your identity and personhood. I have a passion for working with clients who identify as students, LGBTQIA+, survivors of domestic violence, struggle with substance use, and/or have a history of trauma. In my practice, I pull from a wide variety of therapeutic techniques, but consider my work to be heavily rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), parts-work, attachment theory and the neurobiological impact of trauma on our brains and nervous systems.
I completed my MSSW at the University of Texas at Austin. During my free time you can catch me playing video games, enjoying Austin’s music scene or curled up on the couch with my cat Stella.
