Allison "Allie" Shub, LMSW
Supervised by Earley Barnes-Ulrich, LCSW-S
Howdy! I’m Allie, thank you for your interest in my page. I know that taking steps toward accessing help can be intimidating, overwhelming, and worth it nevertheless.
I have a passion for person-centered therapy and particularly enjoy incorporating therapeutic art and expressive practices into sessions when relevant. I truly believe in the healing power of art as self-expression to help a person explore their own inner world, build confidence, and find relief. My goal is to help foster an open, warm, and collaborative environment based on compassion where we can strive for growth. If art is not what you’re looking for, I am also comfortable sticking to the classics with talk and conversation.
I have experience working with those aiming to build a positive self-image, resilience, and self-understanding, or facing challenges such as life changes, procrastination anxiety, imposter syndrome, and academic pressure. As a member of it myself, I have a particular passion for working with those who consider themselves part of the LGBT+ community.
On my background, I grew up in San Antonio and moved to Austin to complete my BAs in Psychology and Sociology, along with my Master of Science in Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin. While achieving my Masters, I completed internships with the Kind Clinic and Cap City Kids through AISD, in both of these positions, I worked to provide social and therapeutic services to folks from all different walks of life. These days, in my free time, I enjoy spending time with my cats, playing video games with friends, or working towards my own artistic pursuits.
If you think we would be a good fit to work together, please reach out! I look forward to getting to know you more.
