Jennifer Stephenson, LMSW
If you often feel misunderstood or find yourself battling harsh self-talk and shame, you’re not alone. Neurodivergence isolates many of my clients, creating environments that can lead to trauma and make it hard to connect with others. Trauma can show up in a lot of ways, with varying levels of dissociation, people-pleasing tendencies, and much more. It can feel like wading through an ocean of complexity and struggle, without many others who can understand your experiences or see you for who you really are. I provide an affirming space to accommodate your unique needs without judgment, where you can truly be yourself.
I specialize in working with clients who have complex trauma, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and/or ADHD. Whether you need a space to vent, to process trauma, to build skills, or something different, I can be there to help you navigate it. I’ve also worked with a wide range of mental health diagnoses and presentations, such as Dissociative Identity Disorder and personality disorders, and am passionate about providing space for anyone who needs it. I’d love to meet you where you’re at and dig in deep, building sustainable coping skills and encouraging your own self-expansion.
I have a soft spot for the misfits, deep thinkers, and those who are learning to embrace their weirdness. Sometimes healing means giving yourself permission to stop hiding your niche interests or hobbies, even if few people understand them. Growing up immersed in video games, JPop, and anime has helped me appreciate individuality and seek connection with others who see the world a little differently. If you’re looking for a therapist who will encourage you to embrace ALL parts of yourself and will eagerly listen to whatever your passions are, then you’re in the right place. I look forward to meeting you and walking alongside you as you learn to feel more at home in yourself.
