Keagan Theron, Therapist Intern
You may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, weighed down by depression, struggling with the effects of trauma, or facing a difficult life transition. Perhaps you’re navigating challenges in your relationships, grieving a significant loss, questioning your sense of self, or feeling pressure to meet expectations while trying to care for your own needs. Whatever brings you to counseling, you do not have to face it alone.
I work with college students, adults, couples, and individuals who are seeking support through life’s challenges. Many of the people I work with are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, self-esteem struggles, men’s issues, grief and loss, or moments of crisis that leave them feeling stuck or uncertain about the future. Counseling can provide a space to better understand your experiences, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools for moving toward the life you want to create.
In our work together, you can expect a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental environment where your experiences are respected and valued. I draw from Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused approaches to tailor counseling to your unique needs and goals. I believe meaningful growth occurs when people feel genuinely heard, challenged with compassion, and empowered to make choices that align with their values.
My background in athletics, coaching, and leadership has shaped the way I approach counseling. Through these experiences, I have seen the importance of resilience, teamwork, personal accountability, and having support during difficult seasons of life. I also value the role that movement, physical wellness, and healthy routines can play in supporting emotional and mental well-being.
As a counseling intern in a Master’s-level Clinical Mental Health Counseling program pursuing licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC), I am committed to providing ethical, compassionate, and evidence-based care. I strive to meet each client where they are while creating a safe space for healing, growth, and self-discovery. I also respect the importance that personal values, spirituality, and faith may hold in a person’s life and counseling journey.
Seeking support takes courage, and beginning counseling is often one of the most important investments you can make in yourself. If you are considering therapy, I would be honored to walk alongside you as you work toward healing, growth, and a more fulfilling life.
