Welcome to Therapy Austin!

Do you find yourself struggling to control emotional reactivity that leads to feelings of shame, guilt, and/or worthlessness? Do you find it difficult to connect with others and experience safe and fulfilling relationships? Navigating these topics may feel overwhelming and confusing, but you are not alone on this journey.

Life is as intricate and complex as mosaic art, and your individual experiences act to shape parts of this big picture. Though just as life is intricate, so is the experience of complex trauma. The body, mind, and nervous system are influenced by experiences of chronic trauma, such as, but not limited to: childhood abuse/neglect, domestic violence, disrupted attachment, sexual abuse/trafficking, and war. These experiences intersect with various aspects of life, including identity, interpersonal relationships, self-organization, neurodiversity, vulnerable populations, and health issues. Autonomy and self-power already reside within you, and together, we will work to nurture and grow these aspects of yourself.

What’s it like working with me?

I am guided by Polyvagal Theory and influenced by Internal Family Systems and Attachment Theory to tailor treatment to individual needs. I enjoy combining cognitive (top-down) approaches with somatic (bottom-up) approaches to strengthen the mind-body connection and foster a greater sense of felt safety. My approach to the therapeutic relationship is warm, conversational, and collaborative. I see you as the expert on yourself, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge. I am dedicated to walking alongside you as you challenge, discover, and explore. I am LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent affirming, all identities are welcome here!

A little more about me:

I began my academic journey at the University of Houston and completed my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at St. Edward’s University. In my spare time, you can find me with my nose in a book, my hands in my flower garden, or out enjoying the glimmers of life! I have a soft spot for the paranormal, the spooky, and the magical aspects of life. I value a life that’s funky, weird, and fun!

If you think we would be a good fit or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
