Lauren Bean, LPC Associate
Supervised by Briana L Liu, LPC-S
Hello! I’m so glad you’re here. A wise person once said we all experience pain, but experiencing pain alone is true suffering. That’s the basis of my practice–to ensure you are not alone as you work through life’s challenges. You may be experiencing effects of trauma, feeling overwhelmed with life and/or relationships, or dealing with anxiety about the future. Counseling can be a way to regulate your system, sort through thoughts and emotions, discover patterns, and build on the strengths and resources you already possess. I know this kind of work can be difficult and exhausting, but so rewarding, and it would be a privilege to join you in it.
My approach is person-centered, non-judgmental, and collaborative. I would love to support you in developing a better relationship with yourself, identifying and meeting needs, and empowering you with tools for future obstacles if those are your goals. Some areas clients and I have worked through in the past were trauma, anxiety, anger, relationships, self-esteem, people-pleasing, life transitions, and grief.
What you can expect in session is warmth, unconditional positive regard, support, authenticity, and sometimes humor when it’s appropriate. If you are comfortable with it, we may get into somatic work because “the body keeps the score” and provides valuable information. If we were to work together, I would love to hear what you are needing in session throughout our time together. I know counseling is a big time and financial commitment, and I would want you to receive services that are best for you!
Before entering the wonderful world of counseling, I was a 5th grade teacher and a project manager at a nonprofit consulting firm. I’ve taught barre classes for 6 years, love to read books and watch movies, and (to me) I have the best dog in the world.
Feel free to reach out if you have questions or think we’d be a good fit. I’m looking forward to taking this next step with you!
