Valentina Sarmiento, Therapist Intern
Finding a therapist can feel overwhelming, especially when you already have so much on your plate and aren’t feeling like your best self. You might be feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or unsure how to move forward. Maybe you’re navigating anxiety, life transitions, questioning your self-worth, or the pressure of balancing different expectations from family, culture, or society. Whatever brings you here, you deserve a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported, without judgment.
Our work together will be a collaborative space where you are the expert on your own life. My goal is to create an environment where you feel safe to show up as your full, authentic self. This is a place where your voice is valued, you can speak openly, and you are supported in shaping your own path. Together, we’ll explore who you are beneath expectations, roles, and pressures, helping you reconnect with your authentic self and learn to treat that part of you with compassion and care. We’ll move at your pace, working together to understand what’s coming up for you and what feels most meaningful as you move forward.
I am passionate about supporting clients as they navigate anxiety, identity exploration, self-esteem, and major life transitions. Being Latina is a central part of my identity, and I deeply value culture and the ways it shapes how we see ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. I am committed to honoring and understanding your unique background, values, and lived experiences, and to creating a space where your cultural identity is respected, welcomed, and thoughtfully explored. I am currently completing my Master of Science in Clinical Social Work at UT Austin and working as a supervised intern therapist with Therapy Austin. If you’re looking for a therapist who is warm, inclusive, and genuinely invested in creating a nonjudgmental and supportive space, I would be honored to work with you. You don’t have to have everything figured out to begin, just a willingness to show up. When you’re ready, I invite you to reach out and take that next step.
