Amy Berlin, LMSW
Supervised by Dr. Laura Summerhill, LCSW-S
Hi, I’m Amy Berlin, LMSW.
Welcome! I’m glad you’re here and considering this step towards a more fulfilling life. Working with me, you’ll find a warm, non-judgmental space where we focus on your strengths and goals. I deeply value the therapeutic relationship as a collaborative partnership, where your voice is central to our work together. My approach is grounded in empathy and respect, and I strive to create an environment where you feel safe to explore, express, and grow.
In our sessions, you can expect a supportive and open atmosphere where we work at your pace. I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth, and my role is to guide you in uncovering and nurturing your inner resources. Whether you’re grappling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, or navigating significant life transitions, I’m here to help you build resilience and self-love.
My therapeutic style integrates evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and strengths-based approaches. These tools are designed to help you challenge negative thought patterns, develop coping strategies, and cultivate a more compassionate relationship with yourself. I tailor my approach to fit your unique needs and goals, ensuring that our work together is both effective and meaningful.
With a Master’s degree in Social Work and nearly 20 years of experience in both massage therapy and the music industry, I bring a unique perspective to therapy. These diverse experiences have taught me the profound impact that body awareness and creative expression can have on emotional and mental well-being. In our sessions, we’ll explore how these elements can support your personal growth and healing.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy hiking with my dog, gardening, attending concerts, traveling, and yoga, which helps me maintain a balanced perspective and stay connected to what’s important in life. I believe that personal well-being is integral to effective therapy, and I bring this holistic perspective into my practice.
Thank you for considering working with me. I look forward to the possibility of supporting you in achieving your goals and fostering a greater sense of self-love and fulfillment.
