Hello, and welcome! No matter the reason, seeking support in the form of therapy requires immense vulnerability and courage—congratulations on taking this step. My name is Caroline, and I’m passionate about helping adults live more authentic, integrated, and fulfilling lives. Perhaps you are feeling stuck in a pattern or situation that continues to create suffering in your life. You might be seeking more fulfillment or meaning in your life but don’t know where to start. Whether you are experiencing symptoms of a diagnosable mental health condition or you’re just in the midst of a challenging time, I will meet you with warmth, empathy, compassion, and curiosity as we explore your wellness goals together.
My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, general stress management, grief and loss (including non-death loss), family of origin work, identity exploration, life transitions, shame and self-doubt, and trauma processing and recovery (including PTSD). Outside of private practice, I also have experience working in hospitals treating severe mental illness.
As a person-centered therapist, my approach is tailored to your unique needs and mental health goals. Working with me, you can expect an integration of evidence-based practices which may include mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), self-compassion, and strengths-based practices. My work is also trauma-informed, taking into account how past events may be affecting the present.
Therapy with me tends to feel dynamic, collaborative, and conversational, and I consider my humanness to be my superpower as a therapist. While I possess a set of tools and expertise to help clients succeed, I approach the therapy process with immense humility and will never pretend to have all the answers. Like you, I am a person with strengths, weaknesses, struggles, and successes, and I try to tap into this humanness to cultivate genuine empathy in my work with clients. I view therapy as a dynamic co-creation and will always emphasize your autonomy as the client.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy practicing yoga, cooking, and taking advantage of Austin’s film, arts, and music scene. I also love a fancy hotel and a good true crime podcast.
If you’re ready to take the next step, please reach out and schedule an appointment with me. It’s never too late to start your healing journey, and I would be honored to support you along the way.
