During the course of our lives, we may come to a point where we wish to have a better relationship with our partner, are facing new challenges and need to work through our emotions or want to focus on personal growth. If you are having these, or other similar thoughts, then you’re in the right place! People seek therapy for a variety of reasons. Finding a therapist can be a challenging process so I hope to explain briefly what therapy will look like with me.
My approach in therapy is warm, non-judgmental, and culturally sensitive. I always look forward to learning about my client’s identity, values, history, and their own culture that they have created in their relationship. You can expect a safe and non-judgmental space to process emotions and to learn new skills. Therapy is often a long-term, collaborative process and my objective is to support you in reaching the goals we set together.
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFT Associate) in Texas. I earned a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Amberton University in 2020, and another Master’s in Interdisciplinary Studies (Counseling, Philosophy, Sociology) from the University of North Texas in 2016. In the past, I have worked with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. So, my work with individuals focuses on working through difficult or traumatic experiences, anxiety, life transition, or personal growth. While I work with both couples and individuals, my passion is to work with couples! I particularly enjoy working with issues around communication, infidelity/affair recovery, managing conflict, phase of life issues, and helping couples develop a more meaningful and deeper relationship. I have completed Level 1 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and often use this modality in my work with clients.
A little about me – I moved to Texas almost a decade ago. I have lived in Denton and Dallas in the past and have been living in Austin for the last two years. I’m always fascinated by different cultures and learning about their lived experiences. I also love hiking, playing tennis, video games, watching movies, reading books, and spending time with my family!
If you would like to work with me, you can reach me at 512/201-4501 ext. 280 or complete the appointment request form. I look forward to working with you!
